With the support of Conseil Régional Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur & the City of Marseille, the Marseille Web Fest is launching a call for projects as part of a Writing Residence. To support digital creation in Europe, the Writing Residence should allow the emergence of a new generation of creators/authors by offering residential writing workshops adapted to Internet media.
Professor Rich has written or consulted on a wide range of film, television, advertising, animation, interactive, VR, and multi-platform projects for ABC, ABC Family, NBC, CBS, The Disney Channel, Disney.com, Touchstone Television, Fandango.com, Hasbro, FOX, and The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. He has consulted/lectured/served on panels for The Broadcast Education Association, Digital Hollywood, The Warner Bros. Writers Workshop, NPR, USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, UCLA’s Graduate TV Writing Program, The University of Miami Film Department, and he’s been quoted by multiple news sources, including “Written By” magazine and “The Wall Street Journal”. He is also a founding board member of The Los Angeles Web Series Festival and serves on the advisory boards of The Marseille Web Fest and The Austin Web Fest.
The authors selected as part of the writing residence will each receive a "Final draft" license.
Partner of the Marseille Web Fest, Final Draft is a screenwriting software for writing and formatting screenplays.
★ CALL FOR PROJECTS : CLOSED ★
At the end of the call for proposals, the selection of residents will be made by a jury composed of professionals from the creative digital industry. This selection will be made on the quality of the work already done in the digital domain, on the interest of the project being written and on the motivation of the candidate. The writing residence will welcome authors, without age limit, European or from the Mediterranean basin for a total of 6 days (Monday to Saturday included) including 3 days on the Marseille Web Fest. The writing residence will be held at the Joliette Theater. The authors will be offered personalized workshops and a collective program of meetings with professionals. As part of this residency, a Best Pitch Award will be designated at the closing ceremony of the Festival.

The writing residence will host authors from the member countries of the European Union and no age limit on a total of 6 days (Monday 16 October to Saturday 21 October) including 3 days on the Marseille Web Fest (October 18, 19 & 20) .

IMPORTANT : Fluency in English is mandatory

Any project of digital fiction series.
IMPORTANT : Projects should be being written and / or development.
→ Selection procedure
The selection of future residents will be done on the following criteria: a first experience in the world of web-series, quality of writing and motivation of the candidate.
The call for projects is entirely free.
For the selected participants*, the transport costs, accommodation (Excluding residents of the Region PACA) and catering will be supported.
