With the support of Region Sud & the City of Marseille, the Marseille Web Fest will launch in May 2020 a call for projects as part of a Writing Residence. To support digital creation in Europe, the Writing Residence should allow the emergence of a new generation of creators/authors by offering residential writing workshops adapted to new contents. 


Professor Rich
Professor Rich has written or consulted on a wide range of film, television, advertising, animation, interactive, VR, and multi-platform projects for ABC, ABC Family, NBC, CBS, The Disney Channel,, Touchstone Television,, Hasbro, FOX, and The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. He has consulted/lectured/served on panels for The Broadcast Education Association, Digital Hollywood, The Warner Bros. Writers Workshop, NPR, USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, UCLA’s Graduate TV Writing Program, The University of Miami Film Department, and he’s been quoted by multiple news sources, including “Written By” magazine and “The Wall Street Journal”. He is also a founding board member of The Los Angeles Web Series Festival and serves on the advisory boards of The Marseille Web Fest and The Austin Web Fest.

The authors selected as part of the writing residence will each receive a "Final draft" license.
Partner of the Marseille Web Fest, Final Draft is a screenwriting software for writing and formatting screenplays. 



At the end of the call for proposals, the selection of residents will be made by a jury composed of professionals from the creative digital industry. This selection will be based on the candidate's CV, the interest of the projects being writeen and its motivation.  The writing residence will welcome authors, without age limit, European or from the Mediterranean basin for a total of 6 days (Monday to Saturday included) including 3 days on the Marseille Web Fest. The writing residence will be held at the Joliette Theater. The authors will be offered personalized workshops and a collective program of meetings with professionals. At the end of teh residence, pitch sessions will be organised in front of a professionnals jury. A Best Pitch Award will be awarded at the closing ceremony of the Festival.

The writing residence will host authors from the member countries of the European Union and no age limit on a total of 6 days (Monday 12 October to Saturday 18 October) including 3 days on the Marseille Web Fest (October 16, 17 & 18) .

→ Selection procedure
The selection of residents will be done on the following criteria: candidate's CV, the interest of the projects being writeen and its motivation.  

→ Funding

The call for projects is entirely free. 
For the selected participants*, the transport costs, accommodation (
Excluding residents of the South Region) and the restoration of the lunch will be taken care of.
* Only one representative per project

- A declaration on their honor attesting that the work presented is not subject to any "exclusive contract" with a Production Company.
