With the support of the Regional Council Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur and the City of Marseille, the Marseille Web Fest launched a call for projects within the context of a writing residence to support the digital creation and allow the emergence of a new generation of creators / authors.
Following the call for proposals more than thirty projects were studied by the Jury composed of new media professionals. The selection was based on the quality of the work already done in the digital domain, on the interest of being written project and the motivation of candidates. 8 candidates were selected.

Winner of the writing residence of the Melbourne Web Fest
The writing residence will host the authors of a total of 6 days (Monday to Saturday) including 2 days on the Marseille Web Fest (October 22 & 21). The Writing Residence will take place on the Joliette theater.
Selected authors will participate in personalized workshops and a collective program of meetings with professionals of new media and digital production.
Each workshop will be supervised by European and international experts and will revolved essentially around the digital writing and digital production.
Furthermore, the authors were surrounded by a senior consultant in charge of writing follow-up and development and an associate consultant able to provide an additional perspective on the project.
Also, residents will go to the MIP COM Monday, October 17 for an exceptional evening with the support of the City of Marseille and VARIETY Magazine.

The Marseille Web Fest associate with PRIMI to offer to authors but also directors and producers of digital format exclusive working sessions open to all Thursday 20 in October 2016 (Joliette Theater).
The focus will be on digital writing with the very presence of Neil LANDAU, an american show runner and Chris STONE, British director and screenwriter.
David Worthen Brooks began his career as an awarded screenwriter and editor. He worked for directors such as Tony Kaye, Ridley Scott, Spike Jonze, Paul Hunter, Leslie Dektor or Baz Luhrman.
This meetings have had an impact since he had become an internationally recognized and awarded director.
In 2008, David ran FOX DIGITAL Studio as Vice-President.
Rich HALKE, a standup comedian since the age of 15, R.P.’s first sitcom writing jobs were on the staffs of ABC’s “Step By Step” and FOX’s “Misery Loves Company.”
He has written or consulted on a wide range of film, television, advertising, animation, interactive, new media and multi-platform projects for the likes of Jennie Garth, ABC Family, NBC, The Disney Channel, Disney.com, Fandango.com, FOX, and The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
He has consulted/lectured/served on panels for The Broadcast Educators Association, Digital Hollywood, The Warner Bros. Writers Workshop, University of Southern California’s Transmedia Storytelling Department, USC’s Summer Directing Intensive, The University of Miami Film Department, and he’s been quoted by multiple news sources, including The Wall Street Journal.
He is also a founding board member of The Los Angeles Web Series Festival and serves on the advisory board of The Marseille Webfest.
