The eighth edition of the Marseille Web Fest, international festival of the digital series, was held on 18, 19 and 20 October 2018 in Marseille (Théâtre Joliette.

ACTIVITY REPORT
– 15 international series in competition
– A selection of five 100% French series in partnership with SACD
– 13 nationalities represented
– An international jury and 7 prices and special prices
– 3 days of round tables, master classes, keynotes, meetings and exchanges
– More than 8 hours of free and open screenings to the general public

Concerning the Writing Residence, the Best Pitch Award was awarded to Jabulile Newman, a South African author for her project OUTFOXED 

Finally, the “Michael Ajakwe Pioneer Award” in tribute to Michael AJAKWE JR, famous American producer, true visionary and founder of LA WEB FEST, 1st festival dedicated to the web-series. This prize will be awarded each year to authors, creators, and independent producers who have worked on the development and promotion of the web-series in all its forms.

For this 1st edition, the Michael Ajakwe Pioneer Award was awarded to Tom Chamberlain and Dipu Bhattacharya, the two creators of the multi-award-winning web-series: Pantless Detective.
